An empty home went up in flames overnight in Pointe-Aux-Trembles.

A passerby walking along De Montigny St. called 9-1-1 at 2:30 a.m. to report flames coming from the house.

35 firefighters rushed to the scene to put out the fire. They said, as did some neighbours CTV Montreal spoke to, that this is the third fire at this location in the past two years.

The bungalow has been vacant for several years.

Because this is the third fire at a vacant building, the investigation into the cause of the fire has been transferred to the police department's arson squad.
