Lawyers for the Cirque du Soleil and its founder, Montreal billionaire Guy Laliberte, are demanding a retraction and an apology from Macleans magazine.

According to press reports, Laliberte is angry over the June 15 edition.

It features the cover headline: Cirque du Soleil: sex, drugs & acrobats - a stunning expose.

The article includes an excerpt from an unauthorized biography on Laliberte.

Cirque lawyers say it presents "inappropriate associations" between the Cirque, its performers and Laliberte's personal life.
