Eugenie Bouchard needed just 58 minutes to dispose of 26-year-old Alla Kudryavtseva, 6-2, 6-0 at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston South Caroina Tuesday to set up a possible third round showdown with Venus Williams.

The Moscow-based Kudryavtseva, who was ranked as high as 56 four years ago, had trouble with her second serve, which Bouchard pounced on to win 14 of 15 possible points.

Bouchard, ranked 20, had never played the 117th ranked Russian but breezed through by winning 67 percent of her first services and breaking her older opponent seven times while only being broken twice.

Bouchard will try to get into the final 16 in her next match against either Chanelle Scheepers from South Africa or seven-time Slam winner Venus Williams.

Williams needed two hours and fifteen minutes to beat the Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 in her first round match.
