It took all of about an hour for Westmount tennis player Eugenie Bouchard to snag a victory in her first-round match at the China Open in Beijing.

Bouchard -- currently ranked 46th in the world -- came out victorious over Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova, winning with a score of 6-4 and 6-1.

Next up for Bouchard will be to take on American Sloane Stephens, who is currently ranked 13th in the world.

Bouchard's fellow Canadian competing at the tournament -- Sharon Fichman -- lost her first match on Monday, 6-4 and 6-3, against Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan.
