UPDATE: As of Monday the computer systems are back online.
The Jewish General Hospital is asking Montrealers to stay away from the facility unless absolutely necessary, after a power surge knocked out computer systems in many parts of the hospital Friday morning.
Some systems are back online, the hospital explained, but some departments, such as the hospital’s Test Centre, are closed.
Ambulances are being diverted and the hospital is asking patients to stay away until the computer problems are fixed.
The hospital says it is doing its best to minimize inconveniences, and assures that patients’ safety is not compromised.
Repairs are ongoing Friday morning.
