Veteran defenceman Francis Bouillon will be back with the Montreal Canadiens for a professional tryout at the very least, according to the RDS network.
The 38-year-old, 5'7" American rearguard notched six points in 52 games last season but emerging prospects Nathan Beaulieu, Jared Tinordi and Greg Pateryn are expected to be favoured for spots on the blueline this season.
Bouillon has spent parts of 11 seasons with the Canadiens after joining the Habs for the first time in December 1999.
Bouillon was snubbed in the NHL Entry Draft but the Habs inked him to a deal upon the urging of current coach Michel Therrien, who also coached him in juniors.
Bouillon earned a spot with the big club in the dying days of the last millenium after racking up 55 points for the Fredericton Canadiens of the AHL one season earlier.
He edged out Miroslav Guren, Barry Richter and Scott Lachance for a regular spot on the Canadiens' blueline.
Bouillon played for the Montreal Roadrunners roller hockey team in 1996 and also played parts of four seasons with the Nashville Predators.
