A 16-year-old boy accused of stabbing another teenager Friday night on Nuns’ Island has been charged with second-degree murder.
The teen appeared in youth court in Montreal Monday where the charges were laid.
The 15-year-old victim was stabbed in the heart following a brawl. Several witnesses at the scene were interviewed, and the murder weapon was found nearby.
The Crown has opposed letting the teen out on bail. He will return to court Friday for a bail hearing.
This is the 18th homicide of the year in Montreal.
