A young woman is under arrest and is being questioned by police after a shooting in a Montreal hotel.
Police say that around 12:40 Monday morning the woman pulled a handgun out of her purse and fired at a young man, striking him in the upper body.
Witnesses called 9-1-1 and both paramedics and police were quick to arrive at the Hotel Elegant on St. Hubert St. near de Maisonneuve Ave.
The young man was taken to hospital and his condition is reported as stable with his life not in danger.
Police arrested the woman and brought her to a cell, where she is being questioned by officers to determine why she shot the young man.
Both victim and accused shooter are about 18 years old.
