Statcare Emergency Clinic in Pointe-Claire officially closed its doors on Dec. 31, but says patients can access another nearby walk-in.

The clinic’s owner, ELNA Medical, was granted creditor protection last month.

West Islanders were worried the closure would add further strain on its hospitals, like the Lakeshore General Hospital. However, Statcare said a dozen additional physicians joined Brunswick Medical, just three kilometers away.

“We are pleased to confirm that patients who relied on Statcare for their minor urgent needs can now access care at Brunswick Medical Centre,” said Statcare spokesperson Jonathan Prunier.

“This allows us to continue delivering the high-quality, timely care our patients expect and deserve.”

Another ELNA Medical facility, ELNA Pierrefonds, was set to relocate earlier this week.
