Two years after a former mob boss was killed police have arrested two more suspects in his murder.
Steven Fracas and Steve D'Addario should be arraigned in court on Thursday with the first degree murder of Salvatore "The Ironworker" Montagna.
Five other men, including Raynald Desjardins, have already been arrested and charged with Montagna's murder and a conspiracy to assassinate him.
Montagna was born in Montreal but spent most of his life in Sicily before moving to New York in the 1990s.
Once there he became a kingpin in the Bonnano crime family, and was subpoenaed before a grand jury in 2002.
However he refused to testify, and as a result lost his right to remain in the U.S. He was deported to Canada in 2009, and his arrival coincided with a string of murders and assassination attempts among Montreal's organized criminals.
Montagna was abducted, then shot and killed on Nov. 24, 2011.
Police say he tried to escape when his captors brought him to Ile aux Tresors, north of Montreal, but he collapsed while trying to swim across the river.
Desjardins, along with Vittorio Mirarchi, Felice Racaniello, Jack Simpson and Pietro Magistrale, have been in jail awaiting trial since their arrests.
