CJAD radio broadcaster Tom Armour is retiring after 50 years on Montreal airwaves.
Armour started in 1959 in Quebec City before moving to CFCF radio here in Montreal in 1961.
He covered some of the biggest news stories of the 1970’s including the October Crisis and the near-disastrous Apollo 13 mission.
"The thing to understand about Tom is that he is a consummate professional. He comes to work with the attitude of, 'What can I do to help?' In a crisis, he is beyond calm, cool and collected and he is the one that so many of us have learned from and really appreciate," colleague Dave Fisher told CJAD.com
For the last decade Tom was the weekend morning anchor on CJAD.
