The Canadiens are hoping to redeem themselves on Monday as they face the Vancouver Canucks for the second and final time this season.
The last time the two teams met the Canucks won 5-1. It was also the night goalie Carey Price was injured and he has yet to return to play.
Since then backup Mike Condon has been in nets and he was spectacular until Saturday's game against the Avalanche, where Colorado was able to find every hole in his game. The Avalanche scored four times before he was pulled and Dustin Tokarksi took over.
However, despite the poor showing on Saturday, Coach Michel Therrien said his team did very well, making dozens of shots on nets and just unfortunately unable to score more than once.
Therrien has not changed any lines, although he's leaning on the line of Alexander Semin/Lars Eller/Alex Galchenyuk to spend more time in front of the opposition's net.
"They've got to play more inside the dots. I think that line plays a bit too much on the outside. It's tough to score in the NHL when you're too much, a little bit, on the outside," said Therrien.
Eller said he knew what the coach wanted and would be working toward that Monday night.
"We just got to get a little more in sync again, to read each other better like we did so early in the season. We know we can be really good again, the three of us," said Eller.
Tonight's game also marks the return of Brandon Prust to Montreal, although he will not be on the ice.
Prust was traded to Vancouver over the summer and played well against his former teammates during their earlier matchup, but he was injured in the Oct. 27 game.
He expects to play again in the near future.
