There were more shocking revelations Thursday at the trial of a 15 year-old accused of terror-related charges.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has pleaded guilty to robbing a depanneur, and is on trial because authorities claim he wanted the money so he could join a terrorist group.

The 15-year-old was arrested on Oct. 17, 2014, and around the time of his arrest his father said he had found a scrap of paper with a phone number he did not recognize on it.

That phone number turned out to belong to Martin 'Ahmad' Couture-Rouleau, who three days after the boy's arrest hit two soldiers with his car, killing one of them.

In court on Thursday the Crown played a recording of an RCMP officer interrogating the boy about his connection with Couture-Rouleau.

On the tape the accused denied knowing Couture-Rouleau, but later admitted otherwise. Despite the officer's best attempts to get information about how the boy knew Couture-Rouleau and what their relationship was, he refused to answer most questions. The boy did deny knowing anything about about Couture-Rouleau's plans.

The court heard that the teen contacted Couture-Rouleau on Twitter few days before the holdup to ask for $50 to buy a weapon.

Police had met with Couture-Rouleau less than two weeks before his Oct. 20, 2014 attack that killed Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, and his right to travel outside of Canada had been revoked.

The boy has already admitted robbing $2,200 from a depanneur, and other recordings played in court show the boy, who immigrated to Canada when he was five, felt ashamed to be living among 'infidels' in a country that did not practise Sharia law.
