The Montreal SPCA is calling it a horrible act of animal cruelty.
Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, the dog seen in the above photo was brought to the SPCA with severe injuries.
It was found by passersby in a cardboard box in on Henri Julien Ave. near du Laos St.
Officials say it looks like the Chow Chow/Labrador crossbreed was hit in the head and left to die.
He was euthanized.
SPCA inspectors have opened a criminal investigation and are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible.
