Firefighters were busy Monday morning in the Rosemont-Petite Patrie borough putting out a building fire.
The fire began shortly before 10 a.m. on 5th Avenue near Holt St., and the fire department believes cardboard boxes are to blame.
The fire started on the second floor in a kitchen where boxes were placed very close to a baseboard heater.
The flames spread from kitchen to the roof of the building in a matter of minutes.
The duplex was heavily damaged and the two families who lived there will have to find new homes.
Nobody was injured.
