Quebec police investigating the homicide of a man in his 20s in Sherbrooke
Quebec provincial police (SQ) are investigating the murder of a man in his twenties whose body was discovered on Saturday evening by a citizen in Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships.
The police force confirmed on Sunday morning that it was a homicide and that the investigation was continuing in collaboration with the Sherbrooke Police Service.
Sherbrooke police officers were called around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday to a building at 4300 Bourque Boulevard to help an unconscious man, said public relations officer Benoît Pellerin in a press release.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, SQ spokeswoman Élizabeth Marquis-Guy confirmed later that evening.
The case has been turned over to the SQ's Crimes Against the Person Division.
Investigators and forensic identification technicians from the provincial police were assigned to the scene to analyse the scene and attempt to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the death. Analysis of the scene was completed on Sunday morning.
