MONTREAL -- Provincial securities authorities are investigating Amaya Inc., the Quebec-based gaming company that recently bought PokerStars.
The company says it's co-operating with Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the Quebec agency that oversees the province's securities industry.
The brief statement follows a report in Forbes.com that said Amaya's headquarters in the Montreal community of Pointe-Claire was raided Wednesday by the RCMP and AMF.
Amaya says that, to its knowledge, the investigation doesn't involve allegations of wrongdoing by the corporation.
A spokesman for the provincial authority told Forbes that it could confirm there was an operation but wouldn't provide details.
Forbes also reported that Manulife Financial and Canaccord Genuity were co-operating with the investigation.
