MONTREAL - Quebec is pumping $78 million into elementary school construction and that’s good news for St. Patrick’s Elementary in Pincourt, which will be expanded to keep up with rising enrolment.

The school, administered by the Lester B. Pearson School Board, currently teaches 330 students, although its capacity is just 278.

The school will soon  be equipped with 13 new classrooms, a new library, daycare facilities and three multi-purpose rooms.

The school, which sits in the fast-growing bedroom community west of the city, will be able to accommodate 588 students after completion the year after next..

Five other Quebec elementary schools will also be built with the money.
