Enjoying Montreal during 'festival season' is a piece of cake, but there is no shortage of things to do during the fall.

About.com editor Evelyn Reid has a lengthy list of ideas for how to spend your leisure time when the leaves start to change colour.

One way to enjoy those trees is to pick apples, and for families that don't have a car, they can take the Apple Train.

"It's offered by the Agence Metropolitan du Tansport and every Saturday now through mid-October, you can hop on a train and pick apples," said Reid.

"It's $80 for a family of four and you're going to end up with 30 pounds of apples and a day out in the country. It's amazing."

Watch the interview for more details on Reid's other ideas, include tracking down white eggplants, black salt, and shrunken heads, and going on a zombie walk.
