A 24-year-old man is in hospital after being shot early Wednesday morning in Montreal.

The man was standing outside the Liquid Lounge bar at 5028 Sherbrooke St. W., near Grey Ave., when he was hit at 1 a.m.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for the injury to his lower body.

Police are trying to determine the motive for the attack, and spent the night talking to witnesses and searching for clues.

They hope to speak to the victim later on Wednesday.

As of yet there is no description of the attacker or attackers.

The bar, which straddles the border of Westmount and Montreal, was attacked by arsonists in May of 2014. For many years the bar was known as Crossroads.
