The Metro grocery chain is taking over the Premiere Moisson bakeries.
Metro Inc. did not say how much it is paying for a controlling interest in the bakery.
The Colpron-Fiset family founded Premiere Moisson in 1992 in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and expanded to have 23 bakeries and stores throughout Quebec and in Ottawa.
Ten of the bakeries are co-ownerships.
The family continue to manage the bakeries and will retain ownership of 25 per cent of the company.
Final approval is expected in several weeks.
