A man is fighting for his life following a strange roadside incident near Oka last night.
At around 12:30 am, a woman told local police that she had hit an object -- that seemed like a garbage bag -- while driving on Route 344 in Kanesatake. But upon further verification, she noticed a man's body on the side of the road.
When representatives from the Surete du Quebec arrived on scene, they discovered that the man still had a pulse. He was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
The victim and age have yet to be identified.
In hopes of bringing clarity to the situation, the SQ has launched an investigation and is exploring several hypotheses as to what may have happened -- including the possibility that the man could have been a victim of a hit and run prior to the collision, or that he may have collapsed on the side of the road.
