Montreal firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze in Montreal-North on Tuesday evening.

Seventy firefighters were dispatched to a four-story apartment building at the intersection of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Pelletier Avenue.

The fire began on the second floor of the apartment building. The cause remains under investigation.

Authorities said the Red Cross assisting approximately 30 families.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported.
