A stout 41-year-old man who has frustrated Canadian law enforcement officials for two years might be living in Montreal.

Max Edwin Tutiven killed a gas station attendant in 2012 during a gas-and-dash fuel theft in Toronto in September 2012, according to the RCMP.

Tutiven faces an outstanding warrant for gas theft in Montreal and two others in Toronto, along with the charges associated with running over Jayesh Parajapati, 44, who was dragged to his death under Tutiven's silver SUV.

The attendant Parajapati attempted to prevent the theft of $113 in gas because Ontario law required employees to pay for stolen gas, a situation which has led many to call for a change to the provincial law.

Tutiven has a dark complexion, dark hair, stands 5'5" and weighs between 220 and 230 pounds.

The victim, Prajapati came to Canada from India with a MA in Chemistry. He left a wife and 11-year old son behind.

Tutiven is said by law enforcement authorities to have associates in Montreal. On Saturday authorities once again issued an alert via Twitter of the possibility of Tutiven's presence in Montreal.
