THE TEAM

  • Virginie Ann is a multimedia journalism student focusing on international politics and conflict management. Before enrolling in Journalism and Political Science at Concordia University, she traveled alone extensively across Canada, South America and Europe. During that time, she worked as a radio and television host in Saskatchewan and Budapest, developed a passion for photography and started experimenting with documentary filmmaking. She is currently in Morocco on exchange, studying law and politics. Virginie will return and spend the summer working at CJAD radio in Montreal.

    Luca Caruso-Moro is a journalist and designer living and working in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. His practice spans cinematic, sonographic, performance, musical, and theatrical storytelling. His work has brought him all over Canada, from major cities to remote communities. He is likely to be one of the youngest artists nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award for his debut production as sound designer on Cliff Cardinal’s “Stitch” (2015). Since then, his work has been commissioned and recognized by news agencies, scholar and artist circles alike. He works in reverence of the diverse voices and stories that have been left out of mainstream dialogue. His practice is dedicated to elevating these voices, and to the relentless and frantic pursuit of love, truth and joy.

    Katelyn Thomas is a journalism student at Concordia University with a particular interest in human rights reporting. She was recently named editor-in-chief of The Concordian newspaper, where she previously worked as a copy editor. Katelyn has interned at CJAD 800 radio and at the International Centre for Human Rights Education – Equitas. This summer, Katelyn will work at the Montreal Gazette after being chosen from a competitive field of applicants for a reporting internship. She won the John W. Sancton Memorial Award in 2019, an award given to an outstanding print journalism student at Concordia University.
