The former president of the Coalition Avenir Quebec is joining the provincial Liberal party.

CAQ leader Francois Legault confirmed Thursday morning that Dominique Anglade would be running for the Liberal party in a byselection for Saint Henri Sainte Anne.

Legault said he was saddened by the loss of a strong member of his party.

Anglade was president of the CAQ in 2012 and 2013, and represented the CAQ as a candidate in the riding of Fabre but failed to be elected in the 2012 election.

She subsequently worked as president of Montreal International.
