The first snowfall of the season complicated Montreal firefighters' arrival to the scene of a three-alarm fire Tuesday.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. at a building on Pierce St. between de Maisonneuve Blvd. and Ste. Catherine St.
More than 80 firefighters were called to the scene to help put out the fire. Crews had trouble getting to the building because snow plows hadn't yet cleared the snow on that street.
The three-storey residential building was evacuated safely, but is uninhabitable.
The fire department estimates the flames did about $200,000 in damage to the building.
No one was injured.
