A woman who was seriously injured in a car crash will co-chair a public consultation on road safety.

Claudia Di Iorio was a passenger in a speeding car that crashed in the Town of Mount Royal years ago, and spent a month in a coma.

She was in a coma for a month and spent years recovering from serious head, spinal cord, and pelvis injuries.

Di Iorio went on to launch Cool Taxi, coupons that can be used instead of cash for taxis across Quebec.

Her partner in the public consultations will be retired Levis police officer Alain Gelly.

The hearings will take place in eleven cities across Quebec starting February 2017.

The goal is to reduce road deaths by 17 percent over the next four years.
