Motorists leaving the island, be warned: the Champlain Bridge heading to the South Shore is closed this weekend due to construction.
One of the three lanes heading towards Montreal will also be closed, as will Highway 15 South from the Turcot Interchange to Highway 132.
All access ramps to Highway 15 South from the Turcot and the Bonaventure Expressway are also closed.
Seven expansion half-joints are being replaced on the bridge’s upstream side.
The bridge will reopen on Monday morning at 5:00 a.m.
Work will continue over several weekends in September and October. On the weekends of Sept. 17 and 18 and Oct. 16 and 16, the bridge will be completely closed coming into Montreal while on the weekend of Oct. 1 and 2, the lanes heading to South Shore will be closed again.
