Loto Quebec employees have walked off the job Monday in a bid to put pressure on their employer during contract negotiations.
Croupiers from the Montreal and the Lac Leamy casinos are holding a 24-hour strike.
Their union says Loto Quebec has put a halt to contract talks during the summer, even though employees have been working without a contract since March 2013.
Croupiers are asking for a two percent pay hike per year for five years.
The 750 croupiers at the Montreal Casino voted in favour of striking on May 28, while their Lac Leamy counterparts did the same on June 10.
