Preparations are underway for Montreal’s Fete Nationale parade, taking place Tuesday.

Rehearsals were held Saturdau at an arena on Rouen St.

The theme this year is "We Are Quebec" -- a celebration of the province's beauty, ancestors and culture.

And for the first time in years, the budget for the ensemble of Fete National festivities has gone up.

The Mouvement National de Quebec, which organizes events across the province, says this year, their budget was raised to more than $4.1 million.

About 6,000 activities are planned at more than 700 sites Monday and Tuesday.

Montreal's parade gets under way at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, and starts at Sherbrooke St. E and Place de Lery.

A free concert will begin at 9 p.m. at Parc Maisonneuve.
