The Surete du Quebec bomb squad and Longueuil police are on the scene after an explosive was detonated in a car in Saint-Bruno-de Montarville Thursday.
Police investigated the blast, which took place at 2 a.m. in the driveway of a home located at 131 Grand Blvd. East, at the corner of Fougere St.
"They confirmed that there was an explosive device that was placed under one of the vehicles," said Const. Mark David of the Longueuil police.
The explosion damaged the minivan, as well as another car parked in the driveway.
The family who owns the minivan said it heard the explosion, but initially thought it was an earthquake. They decided not to comment to media.
Neighbours said the woman ran a daycare with small children inside the home and her husband was a brick layer working in the construction industry.
Nobody was injured.
Parts of the explosive found at the scene were sent for lab testing.
A large part of Grand Blvd. was closed so police could investigate, though late Thursday afternoon, residents were allowed to return to their homes.
