An arsonist tried and failed to burn down a Lachine pizzeria early Thursday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m. a Molotov cocktail was thrown into Champion Pizza, at the corner of Provost St. and 12th Ave., but the incendiary device sputtered and failed to ignite.
It produced some smoke and nothing else.
Nobody was inside the restaurant and the time, and there is no sign that anyone was injured.
Police said the same restaurant had been attacked a few weeks ago, and at that time a window was smashed but had yet to be repaired.
