Molotov cocktails were thrown inside the front of a pizzeria in Little Italy early Sunday morning, sparking a fire.

Around 3:15 a.m., a man saw an individual quickly leaving the scene as the fire broke out in the Mozart St. restaurant. The pizzeria, called Motta, belongs to the family of deceased Mafioso Moreno Gallo, according to La Presse.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire. Molotov cocktails were subsequently found in the pizzeria.

Police are searching for witnesses, and checking if video surveillance cameras for more information.

Moreno Gallo, who held the role of Montreal Mafia godfather after the arrest of Vito Rizzuto in 2004, was assassinated in an Acapulco restaurant in Mexico on Nov. 10, 2013. He was 68 years old.
