You’re less likely to see an engineer than Indiana Jones near part of the Turcot as work has been temporarily put on hold for an archeological dig.
The remains of a tannery unearthed this spring is revealing details of what life was like in 18th century Montreal.
“What they found was the foundation of houses and also where they worked the skin, to transform animal skin into leather,” said Transport Quebec spokesperson Martin Girard.
The site is just behind the new Glen superhospital, directly under the interchange.
Archeologists working with the Quebec Culture Ministry will be on site until the middle of August, with all artifacts found going to the ministry’s archive.
