She underwent a week-long psychiatric evaluation at the Shawinigan Regional Mental Health Centre.

In additrion to the kidnapping and confinement charges, separate shoplifting charges will also be a matter of discussion in the decision of whether or not to release her pending trial.

She is alleged to have stolen baby clothing and supplies prior to the event.

Collins allegedly entered the room of a new mother while dressed as a nurse at the St. Mary’s Pavillion Centre at the Trois-Rivieres hospital on May 26 and snatched the mother's newborn baby.

She was arrested a few hours later.
