A woman was seriously injured following a collision with a snowplough in the Lanaudière region.

Provincial police (SQ) officers were called at around 4:30 p.m. to the rang de l'Arnouche in the Saint-Zénon sector.

The car had skidded on an uphill slope as it struggled to climb the road. The snow plough, which was travelling down the hill, was unable to avoid it as it was in its lane, according to a preliminary report.

Three people were in the car, with the front-seat passenger suffering the most serious injuries. She was taken to hospital, where her condition is considered critical but appears to be stable.

The driver of the snow plough suffered a nervous shock.
