Security will be increased at the Montreal courthouse at the end of the month.

The Ministers for Justice and for Public Security are expected to confirm Tuesday that new security measures will be implemented over the next few months.

That will include metal detectors and X-ray machines to examine bags.

Citizens will have to go through the scans and searches before entering the building and watching court cases.

The employee parking lot is also going to be subject to stricter security.

Similar measures were implemented at the Ottawa courthouse last year.
