Wilde Horses
- Lars Eller's puck winning skills were in full display. He was often first forward in and he left his one-on-one battle with the puck nearly every time. He also won a physical battle before his attempt to score the Habs’ first goal. Eller is strong now. Look out in the playoffs. He will be among the best for a third year in a row.
- Sven Andrighetto with another strong game. We know about his speed but what I liked was his attention to defence and playing the way Therrien's going to like for him to stick.
- Tomas Fleischmann has a great stick still. How did he get passed over by everyone? Such a veteran intelligence too in reading the play. Another strong game.
- On the first Habs goal, PK Subban had the fans on their feet with two amazing plays. He kept the puck in perfectly and only had one play to keep it in and alive and he did it – through the legs to his D partner. Subban is getting smarter and smarter. He had the assignment of Ovechkin a lot and dominated him.
- Max Pacioretty is getting better and better with his skating stride. The speed and power is returning as he gets his health.
- Paul Byron shorthanded blew past Ovechkin like he wasn't moving to get a clear chance. What weapons the Habs have.
- Holtby was having a world class night and Brian Flynn schooled him. What a move. Shorthanded. That's a fourth liner. What a team Bergevin has assembled.
- At one point on the night, the shot attempts for Petry and Beaulieu were 21-1 and they got scored on the one. That's ridiculous domination from the Habs second D pair.
- Alex Galchenyuk has upped the slickness of his hands. His stick handing is mesmerizing right now. Galchenyuk is at a higher level than at any time in his career in the last five games. He got absolutely robbed for an equalizer.
Wilde Goats
- I feel bad on such a night of dominating Habs play to mention anyone but I am sure Mike Condon wants the second goal back. The shot has to go into the corner and not over his head and off him and in. The game is half goalie and the Caps had the better half.
Wilde Cards
- The Habs are the best team in the east. The run of play is what you have to look at and this was stunning domination over the team Bodog says is the cup favourite, Washington. Don't look at the scoreboard. Look at the ice. Around the Caps net. Where all the play was.
- They got goalied. It happens.
