While rainy forecasts have some parts of Montreal cancelling or postponing their Canada Day festivities,  there is still plenty to do if you are willing to get a little wet.

  • The annual Canada Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. and will head along Ste. Catherine St., starting at Fort and ending at Place Phillips, where there will be festivities, including a cake expected to feed 2,000 people.
  • The 31st edition of the Loto-Quebec fireworks competition kicks off at 10 p.m. with a special Salute Our Troops program, featuring musicians from the Royal 22nd Regiment.
  • Also in the Old Port, more fun for party-goers, including a 21-cannon salute, more cake and concerts featuring Elizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite, Lisbonne Telegramme, Too Many Cooks and more.
  • In Westmount, all celebrations will go on, rain or shine.
  • In Hudson, events are tentatively still on at Thompson Park starting at 3 p.m. and a decision to cancel will be made by noon on July 1st.
  • All events in St. Lazare are still a go, starting at 9 p.m. at 1850 Rue des Loisirs.
  • Most activities in Cote St. Luc will go on despite the weather, though some will be moved indoors due to the weather. Consult the full schedule here.
  • Ste. Anne de Bellevue will have festivities from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 28 Ste. Anne St.
  • Lasalle's activities at Parc des Rapides start at 4 p.m.
  • Lachine will begin celebrating at Parc de la Marina D'Escale at 7:30 p.m.
  • People looking for a party in Laval can head to the Centre de la Nature at 6 p.m.

 

Here is a partial list of what’s cancelled:

  • Pointe Claire - All events scheduled at Bourgeau Park in Pte. Claire are cancelled. Citizenship ceremony at Stewart Hall will go ahead as scheduled.
  • Dorval - All Canada day activities scheduled at Millennium Park will now take place July 2 from 6 to 10 p.m.
  • Beaconsfield - Canada day events will go ahead at the Recreation Centre, fireworks will be postponed until July 10 at Centennial Park .
  • Pierrefonds - The Canada Day parade, set for 7:30 p.m. will go ahead regardless of the weather a decision on whether or not there will be fireworks will not be made until noon on July 1.
  • DDO - All events postponed until July 2nd at DDO Park.
  • Montreal West - All events postponed until July 2 at Strathearn Park.
  • Montreal North - In case of rain, all activities at Parc Aimé-Léonard are cancelled.
  • Longueuil/Greenfield Park - Some activities at Empire Park cancelled in case of rain.
