Repair crews in Pointe-Claire have patched up three water main breaks near Braebrooke Ave., but their work is not done yet.

Freezing temperatures cracked two more water mains Monday morning.

Water was shut off to the neighbourhood south of Hymus Blvd. and west of Delmar Ave. overnight as pipes cracked and split.

The pipes that broke on Ivanhoe Cres., Glenbrook Cres., and Alexina Ave. flooded front yards and roads, but no homeowners reported any significant water damage.

The rushing water also created a sinkhole on Ivanoe Cres. which crews have yet to repair.

As of 9:30 a.m. the pipes had been repaired, but water service had not been restored.

But then two more pipes split -- one on Hymus Blvd. and another on Brunswick Blvd.

The water in those areas has been lowered, but not shut off entirely.

The water main on Hymus Blvd. should be fixed Monday afternoon, but the break on Brunswick Blvd. will only be fixed at night so as to not interfere with traffic.
