An overnight car crash in Dollard-des-Ormeaux has claimed the life of two men, and left another in hospital with serious head injuries.

The 31-year-old driver was heading east on Brunswick Blvd. at around 1 a.m. when he tried to pass another vehicle, near Tecumseh Ave. He lost control of the car, and it flipped several times before smashing into a commercial building.

Montreal police Const. Anie Lemieux said the driver was pronounced dead at hospital soon after the accident. One of the passengers, also 31, died of his injuries in hospital several hours later.

The 30-year-old passenger who survived the crash remains in hospital in stable condition.

Excessive speed is likely to blame for the fatal accident, and alcohol has not been ruled out as a possible factor, Lemieux said.
