Three lanes of the Decarie Expressway were closed Tuesday after an 18-wheeler hit the Royalmount overpass.

The tractor trailer, which was carrying an extra-high load, rammed into the bridge shortly after 11 a.m. as it was heading south on Highway 15.

Several chunks of concrete were knocked loose and fell onto the highway below.

Transport Quebec immediately banned traffic from all southbound lanes and from the overpass itself, and to reduce traffic the agency closed the southbound entrance to the highway just before the crash site.

By 11:45 a.m. one lane of southbound traffic was reopened, and Transport Quebec reopened all lanes by 1 p.m.

There are no reports that anyone was injured.
