SASKATOON - A transgendered person who says she wasn't allowed to try on a dress at a Saskatoon bridal shop appears to be getting a lot of support.
Rohit Singh has been getting a lot of support on social media and yesterday there was a small protest in front of Jenny's Bridal Boutique.
Singh was looking for a bridal gown late last month but says she was told she couldn't try it on in the store.
She says the store owner told her that men weren't allowed to wear dresses in her store.
Singh says it made no difference when she indicated she was a transgendered person in the midst of a sex change procedure.
A phone call placed to the store yesterday was not answered.
Singh attended yesterday's rally and says she was grateful for the support.
She also says she intends to lodge a complaint against the store with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.
