Three teens arrested after alleged kidnapping, police pursuit in Montreal
Three teenagers are expected to appear in court Thursday after being arrested following an alleged kidnapping in Laval that led to a police pursuit through the streets of Montreal.
According to Laval police (SPAL), the incident started at 7 p.m. in the parking lot of a Mobilia store near Curé-Labelle Boulevard and Highway 440.
The young men, aged between 17 and 19-years-old, allegedly forced another 17-year-old into a car with them, said Laval police Sergeant Geneviève Major.
She said it is believed the car then took off down Highway 440 to Highway 15 towards Montreal.
Laval police caught up with the car in Montreal and when the driver refused to stop, a police pursuit began.
Officers say the chase lasted five to six minutes through the city streets until it came to a stop near the Jean-Talon market.
The occupants then got out of the car and fled on foot. Police pursued the suspects on foot and arrested the three teens.
Major says it is not yet know what charges they might face. Police say the victim was unharmed.
