It did not take long for South Shore police to round up three men accused of robbing a home and beating up the occupants.

The invasion began at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, when three men rang the doorbell of a home on Saint Claude Row in Saint-Philippe-de-LaPrairie.

The homeowner answered the door and quickly got into an argument with the men. That argument ended when the attackers struck him in the head with a blunt object.

The men apparently ransacked the house and then fled, with the victim's wife shocked by the violence.

The attackers drove off in a car, but minutes later Roussillon police arrested three suspects who matched their description. They were taken into custody and spent the night being interrogated.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but as of Thursday morning doctors had not updated his condition.
