A 28-year-old man remains in critical condition.

Police say that the victim was making a delivery to the depanneur, when the encounter degenerated into a violent conflict.

It is still unclear how or why the interaction escalated.

The victim was discovered outside, bleeding on the ground not far from the depanneur.

A suspect was arrested and questioned by police overnight.

Montreal police are analyzing the scene and are interviewing witnesses to piece together exactly what took place.

Police temporarily closed the westbound lane of Maurice-Duplessis Blvd. between Albert Hudon and Langelier boulevards, but it is now reopened to traffic.
