Reinvesting into public services will be added as a priority when it comes to reinvesting a budget surplus said Quebec Finance Minister Carlos Leitao on Monday.
During the last provincial election campaign, the Liberals vowed to devote an equal share of a surplus in 2015-2016 to tax cuts and debt reduction.
On Tuesday, Leitao will present an economic update after the announcement this summer of a $1.8 billion surplus for the last fiscal year.
Leitao said the government will continue reinvesting, following last year’s announcement of an additional $100 million for education.
