Portion of Hudson Ave. renamed to honour late Rabbi Sidney Shoham
The Beth Zion Synagogue where Rabbi Sidney Shohan worked for over 50 years received a new address on Sunday, in a ceremony honouring the late spiritual leader.
A portion of Hudson Ave. in Cote-St-Luc has been renamed in honour of longtime Beth Zion Synagogue spiritual leader Rabbi Sidney Shoham.
Shoham died in September at the age of 86. He had led the congregation at the Beth Zion for more than 50 years and remained active in the community even after retiring.
At a ceremony on Sunday, a new street sign was unveiled, marking the portion of the street as Sidney Shoham Place.
His former synagogue’s new address has been changed to 1 Sidney Shoham Place.
