MONTREAL—Some of the most popular cold and cough medicine used by Canadians is being recalled due to fears that child-safe bottle caps could fail.

The voluntary recall was announced by Health Canada on Thursday, it will impact certain types of Jack & Jill, Triaminic, Neo Citran and Buckley’s cough syrup.

“Children may be able to open the bottle and ingest the product,” warned Health Canada. “The ingredients of the affected products may be harmful to children.”

The products were distributed Canada-wide by Novartis Health.

A full list of the recall is available on Health Canada’s website.
